Environmental Policy
STATEMENT OF POLICY
Newmay Electrical Services Environmental Policy aims at reducing or mitigating harmful effects on nature and natural resources. The policy focuses on removing the negative impacts on the environment rising from human negligence. The Company will join hands with the Government in contributing towards a greener and cleaner environment. Global warming is becoming a concern for all countries of the world; it is influencing the health of the peoples, reducing the habitats, polluting the environment and decreasing the natural resources and wildlife. A polluted environment results in the poor health of humans and other living creatures and has a negative impact on the ‘clean and green’ environment. Our Company will focus on the following to improve the environment:
AIMS OF THE POLICY The Company will help the Government realize their environmental policy goals. The Company will encourage the Government’s ‘Environment Policy and Innovation’. The Company will exploit innovative ways to reduce environmental impacts and follow the policies and Legislation regarding environment. Government strategy is aimed at contributing towards ‘sustainable development’, where economic and social factors are considered alongside the environment. It also sets the framework for ‘Sustainable Consumption and Production’ (SCP). The Company will: Assess the environmental impact of all operations.
IMPLEMENTATION Overall responsibility for policy implementation and review rests with Mr Paul Mulholland , the Company Director, he will also act as Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHSM). However, all staff are obliged to adhere to, and support the implementation of the policy. The Company Director will assign the post of Environment Policy Coordinator (EPC), who will monitor and evaluate the implementation of the policy. S/he will be responsible to the EHSM, and will also supervise the environmental activities, and procedures of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the Policy. The EPC shall inform all existing employees, consultants and sub-contractors of the policy and their role in the implementation and monitoring of the policy. S/he will also give all new personnel a copy of the policies on Environmental Health and Safety, No Smoking, Recruitment and Equal Opportunity. S/he will also give induction training and send all reports to the EHSM. Appropriate signs will be clearly displayed to protect the environment. The management is committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution. Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice will be regarded as setting the minimum standards of environmental performance. |
